This Friday, 10th March, sees the world premiere of a major new work by Luís Tinoco at the Teatro Municipal de S. Luiz in Lisbon, Portugal.
Première of 'Fantastic Tales' and launch of Lontano CD in Portugal
1 March 2006Fantastic Tales (Contos Fantásticos) for speaker and orchestra, commissioned by Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, is based two books by the author Terry Jones; 'Fantastic Stories' and 'Fairy Tales'. The premiere will be given by João Reis (speaker) with the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa (Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra), conducted by Cesário Costaon March 10th. Further performances will be given on March 11th, 12th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th.
This major premiere is hot on the heels of the launch of Tinoco's latest CD release in Portugal. Chamber Works, a new disc on the Lorelt Label, recorded by Lontano and Eileen Hulse and conducted by Odaline de la Martinez, will be launched with a press conference with Ivan Moody and Luís Tinoco at 6.30pm on Thursday 9th March at the Jardim de Inverno, Teatro Municipal de S. Luiz. The disc, recorded with support from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Instituto Camões, is available through Dargil.
