At the first concert of the Series 20/21 cycle of concerts from the National Centre for Music Broadcasting, Drumming Grupo de Percussão premiered Luís Tinoco’s new work Fados Geneticamente Modificados for percussion quartet. This performance has already received wonderful reviews.
Fantastic review for the premiere of Luís Tinoco’s work ‘Fados Geneticamente Modificados’
21 January 2019
David Santana from codalario.com pronounced Tinoco’s work as ‘an authentic revolution.’The soundscape of Fados Geneticamente Modificados was described as being part of ‘the Portuguese genre par excellence.’ Santana then recounted how ‘Tinoco managed to combine technologically outdated vinyl sounds with some marimbas into Portuguese guitars that accompany these Fados with their tremolos. With different and innovative methods of playing - in the purest sense of the word - the instruments manage to create really novel timbres that make this work an excellent piece.’
Here at UYMP, we would like to congratulate Tinoco on this successful premiere. This work will be able to purchase soon and the full review of this concert can be read here.
