Thomas Simaku – lectures in Palermo, York and London

Thomas Simaku  presented his music at the ‘Alessandro Scarlatti’ Conservatoire in Palermo on 3rd April 2019, which was attended by the composition students and members of staff, including Professor Daniele Ficola and the Chair of Composition Department Maestro Marco Betta.

Entitled ‘Soliloquy Cycle – Sweet and/or Sour’, the presentation focused on a series of works for solo instruments, including his award – winning work Soliloquy V - Flauto Acerbo, which has been described as ‘visionary and entirely original’ by the BASCA judging panel.

Earlier in the spring term Dr Thomas Simaku gave a presentation at York University (5 Mars 2019) as part of the Composers Seminar Series, and a lecture at the Royal Academy of Music in London (15 February 2019).
