Dr Simaku has been focusing on this series of pieces for a number of years now. Beginning with works for violin and cello, it has expanded to include pieces for oboe, bass clarinet and soprano saxophone, as well as the BASCA award winning recorder piece, Flauto Acerbo.
He also chaired a workshop for postgraduate composition students, before travelling to the State Conservatory of Music in Izmir to deliver a lecture and composition masterclass.
