UYMP is delighted to announce that Sadie Harrison has won the 9th International Edvard Grieg Memorial Competition for Composers 2005. The winning work 'with what do winter's summers sing?' for female voice and piano will receive three performances this year.
Sadie Harrison wins Grieg Memorial Competition
1 February 2005The first performance will take place at The Oslo Grieg Festival 2005 with further performances at the Oslo Music Teachers 100 Year Jubilee Concert and at the Salzburg Festival. The jury's comments were that the work showed 'musical depth and originality, combined with a strong sense of form and artistic expression - a work that truly reflects our time'.
