The Path of Autumn Water was written for Thuỷ Đặng as thanks for her beautiful performance of Par-feshani-ye 'Eshq (The Fluttering Wings of Love) in her Masters recital in Manchester University in 2025. The title of the piece is inspired by the meaning of Thuỷ's name, with the piece being a depiction of the Perfume River in Huế, Vietnam. In Autumn, the river becomes fragrant from the many upstream orchard flowers that fall into the water.
