Another great review for Hilda Paredes' portrait disc Señales, released this month on Mode Records.
Sequenza 21 praises Señales CD
9 June 2016
Christian Carey, writing on contemporary music website Sequenza 21, describes the performances on the disc as 'riveting' and praises Recuerdos del Porvenir in particular as being:
"remarkable in its composer’s imaginative use of this economic motive, deriving a great deal from the chant [Gloria Tibi Trinitas] yet retaining the highly gestural and chromatic environment of her style."
He summarises the disc as "an engaging portrait of a fascinating composer."
