21 April 2017Winter Music by Jeremy Dale Roberts was written in 1990 for flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, percussion, and celeste and the premiere was performed by Sounds Positive. Lumsdaine's work Blue upon blue is made of two pieces of music sharing the same space: one a simple modal tune, the other, equally simple gestures of wood and gut. It was composed in 1991 and features on two recordings.
Sadie Harrison's piece, ' ...ballare una passacaglia di ombre...' or ‘dancing a passacaglia of shadows' is one of several movements based on a celebrated mosaic by Sosos of Pergamon depicting an unswept floor. It premiered at Ingram Hall, Nashville, Tennessee, on 19 September 2011 with Peter Sheppard Skaerved on violin.
