Here at UYMP we are very pleased to announce that on the 10th of November, Luís Tinoco’s work Short Cuts (f) was performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. Additionally, on the 25th of November, the Madeira Classical Orchestra, conducted by Pedro Neves, will present a concert, dedicated to Tinoco’s work.

20 November 2017Short Cuts performed @ PASIC 17 in Indianapolis –
On the 10th of November, the Northwestern University Percussion Ensemble - directed by She-e Wu, performed Short Cuts (f) for two vibraphones and two marimbas, at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC 17) that took place in Indianapolis, US. On its 42nd edition, this convention continues to deliver amazing performances of new repertoire and clinics from musicians all over the world, all while showcasing the latest from the percussion industry.
The Percussion Ensemble is an integral part of the curriculum at Northwestern University. The Ensemble has won the PASIC International Percussion Ensemble Competition four times.

Madeira Classical Orchestra performs Tinoco’s Cello Concerto and Fantastic Tales –
On the 25th of November – 06.00 pm, at the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theatre in Funchal, the Madeira Classical Orchestra conducted by Pedro Neves will present a “portrait concert” devoted to the music of Luís Tinoco. The concert program will feature Filipe Quaresma performing Cello Concerto (2017) and the actor Élvio Camacho who will read Terry Jones’ stories in Fantastic Tales (2007).
