This week Jo Kondo is in residence at the Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice (SICPP), held at the New England Conservatory.

1 June 2008As well as working with some of the best composers from Boston and beyond, Kondo will be coaching students in the performance of his music. The following series of concerts will celebrate his music: Monday June 16th, 8pm, Jordan Hall Jo Kondo - Tango Mnemonic Wednesday June 18th, 8pm, Williams Hall Stephen Drury recital Jo Kondo - A Dance For Piano 'Europeans' Thursday June 19th, 8pm, Williams Hall SICPP faculty recital Jo Kondo - Retard (Ethan Wood, violin) Jo Kondo - Aquarelle for piano and percussion Friday June 20th, 8pm, Jordan Hall Percussion Extravaganza! Jo Kondo - Pendulums (Nicholas Tolle, percussion) Jo Kondo - Trio (Moor) for viola, bassoon, and piano Saturday June 21st, 4pm to 10pm, Brown Hall Six hours of new music, performed by the faculty and fellows of SICPP, including: Jo Kondo - Luster Gave Her the Hat And He And Ben Went Across the Backyard Strands II ( for three pianos) Standing; An Elder's Hocket The Shape Follows Its Shadow; Under the Umbrella More details can be found at www.sicpp.org.
