Scenes from Ed Hughes' forthcoming opera Cocteau In The Underworld, librettist Roger Morris, will be performed at the Brighton Festival on Monday 4 May 2009 at 9pm in the Pavilion Theatre.

23 April 2009The opera is inspired by an imagined incident in the life of poet and film-maker Jean Cocteau. Cocteau dreams of the Underworld in order to recover a former lover from the Dead. Here he meets characters from his past and from his imagination. He is faced with a choice between love or creativity.
