Broadcast: Tinoco Cello Concerto

Luis Tinoco's Cello Concerto featuring Filipe Quaresma (soloist) and the Portuguese Symphony cond. by Pedro Neves will be broadcast by the Portuguese radio Antena 2 - RTP, on the 26th July, 9pm. It will be included in the program “Grande Auditório”, produced by Reinaldo Francisco

The concerto premiered in February this year at Teatro Municipal de Almada Joaquim Benite.

  • PRSF Composers’ Fund award for Sadie Harrison

    We are extremely pleased to announce that Sadie Harrison’s Residency at the Kunstler Bei Wu Sculpture Park in Wessenburg Germany has been generously supported by a grant from The Composers’ Fund from the Performing Rights Society Foundation. The Fund will support her work as the Park’s first Composer-in-Residence, a post evolving over two years within a vibrant, pioneering gallery-studio environment. Located in the marshlands of Wessenberg, the Park’s focus is on German and Australian sculpture with concerts exploring the relationships between music, artworks and landscape.

  • Ed Hughes in first Robot Opera

    Ed Hughes has been involved in an exciting new project at the University of Sussex, bringing programming and music together to create singing robots. Hughes wrote the second of two arias with librettist Eleanor Knight entitled, ‘Opposite of Familiarity’.

  • Sadie Harrison to feature in Australian Documentary

    On 17 June 2017 the feature length documentary THE STAGING POST (Light Sound Art Film) will be premiered in Sydney with a further screening in Melbourne on 18 June. We are delighted that excerpts from Sadie Harrison’s The Rosegarden of Light CD (Toccata Classics) are being used as part of the soundtrack. The tracks - Bahar nastaran-e bihag (Radio Piece) and Watan Jan (Dear Homeland) are arrangements of a popular Afghan song and dance and are performed by the young ladies of Ensemble Zohra from the Afghanistan National Institute of Music, conducted by Camilo Jauregui.
