Huddersfield Contemporary Records has released Zeta Potential: a downloadable album of 21 'striking, innovative' live performances, including the eight works by UYMP's Composers from HCMF, published through the ECPDP scheme.
Zeta Potential: HCMF releases album of young composers' works
9 June 2014
The European Composers' Professional Development Programme (ECPDP) was set up by hcmf in 2010 to offer young composers from the UK, Italy and The Netherlands the opportunity to develop a new work in workshop with an ensemble from a different country to their own, culminating in a premiere. In partnership with hcmf, UYMP published the new pieces by composers Finola Merivale, Marcell Messina, Matthew Sergeant, Emily Wright (2011); Jonathan Brigg, Ben Gaunt, Chikako Morishita, Helen Papaioannou (2012).
The album and separate tracks of Zeta Potential (named after Helen Papaioannou's piece), are available for purchase and download at www.cdbaby.com/cd/zetapotential.
The European Composers' Professional Development Programme was funded by European Commission Culture Programme and the Musicians Benevolent Fund.
