On Monday 23 November, Scheuregger’s Harlequin will be performed by Chroma Ensemble.
The European premiere of Jitanjáfora by Hilda Paredes will be performed by Ensemble CEPROMUSIC on Tuesday 24 November, whilst the World premiere of Jonty Harrison’s acousmatic project Going / Places will take place on Wednesday 25 November.
On Saturday 28 November, the world premiere of Thomas Simaku’s String Quartet No 5 will be performed by Quatuor Diotima. Simaku’s latest string quartet was commissioned by HCMF and was written especially for Quatuor Diotima.
The performance comes after the success of the world premiere of Simaku’s String Quartet No 4, which was played by Quatuor Diotima at HCMF 2011. The piece was also written for and dedicated to the quartet.
HCMF is the UK’s largest international festival of new and experimental music.
Spread over 10 days, around 50 events take place, including “concerts, music-theatre, dance, multi-media, talks and film, with a related Learning and Participation programme devised and implemented to reflect the artistic programme and respond to regional need.”
