This double CD, MCD 33 and 34 (Volumes II and III), features live recordings of chamber works by 10 contemporary Portuguese composers, performed by the Sond'Ar-te Electric Ensemble, conducted by Jean-Sébastien Bereau. In addition to the line-up of instruments - alto flute, clarinet (bass clarinet), piano (sampler keyboard/live electronics), violin and cello - players are equipped with granite stones. O Silêncio e as Pedras was commissioned by Miso Music, for the Sond'Ar-te Electric Ensemble and was created with technical assistance from José Luís Ferreira. It was first performed at the Centro Cultural da Gandarinha, Cascai, in December 2008, conducted by Pedro Amaral. To purchase the CD please visit misomusic.com .
