This double CD, MCD 33 and 34 (Volumes II and III), features live recordings of chamber works by 10 contemporary Portuguese composers, performed by the Sond'Ar-te Electric Ensemble, conducted by Jean-Sébastien Bereau. In addition to the line-up of instruments - alto flute, clarinet (bass clarinet), piano (sampler keyboard/live electronics), violin and cello - players are equipped with granite stones. O Silêncio e as Pedras was commissioned by Miso Music, for the Sond'Ar-te Electric Ensemble and was created with technical assistance from José Luís Ferreira.
