Luís Tinoco's new orchestral version of Before Spring - a Tribute to the Rite receives its world premiere on Friday 19th January, with conductor Joana Carneiro and the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra at the Sao Carlos National Theatre.
Tinoco's <cite>Before Spring</cite>: new orchestral version premiere
9 January 2014The new orchestral version was commissioned by the OPART - Sao Carlos National Theatre. Composed as an homage to Stravinsky's major work, Before Spring was written in 2010 for an ensemble of 16 musicians, following a commission from the OrchestrUtopica. The première of the original version took place in May of the same year, at the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon, performed by the OrchestrUtopica and conducted by Cesàrio Costa.
