The Richard Alston Dance Company Autumn Season starts its Autumn Season on Wednesday 3rd October, with four performances at The Place in London.
Kondo choreographed by Richard Alston
28 September 2012The programme includes Jo Kondo's Isthmus, choreographed by Richard Alston. Alston is fascinated by the music of Jo Kondo, whose composition Isthmus moves with rapid light rhythms, both sharp and delicate. This new piece is a dance of nimble and breathtaking precision. The Times describes Altson as: "A choreographer for whom every dance is a love affair with his chosen music". Isthmus will also be programmed in the Company's 2013 tour, along with Kondo's Hunnisuccle and a third Kondo work (to be confirmed). The Spring season will commence with a performance at New Wimbledon Theatre on Saturday 9th February and the Company will tour to Swansea, Yeovil, Exeter, Canterbury, Norwich, Woking, Oxford, Shrewsbury, ending in Southport on 23rd May. Full details will appear shortly on the UYMP website. Richard Alston will be in conversation with music journalist and broadcaster Christopher Cook on Friday 5 October at 6.30pm in the Robin Howard Dance Theatre. The talk is free, but capacity is limited. Please book your place through the box office at www.theplace.org.uk .
