Finding Ursula Vaughan Williams Late Music Concert, York

On Saturday 6th April, a selection of songs from the UYMP collection Finding Ursula Vaughan Williams will be performed by baritone Robert Rice and pianist William Vann at the Late Music Concert Series, alongside five new works.

Three songs from the collection, by Jeremy Dale Roberts, Anthony Payne and Nicola LeFanu, will feature alongside three new settings of the poet: Thomas Simaku's Clock and Times, and two works by current PhD students at the University of York, Ji Sun Yang and James Whittle. The concert takes place in York Unitarian Chapel on St Saviourgate, starting at 7.30pm. A pre-concert talk will be given at 6.45pm by Honorary Patron Nicola LeFanu. The programme also includes Four Settings of Yeats by Jonathan Harvey, and five songs from the on-going Northern Songbook project, for which Late Music composers set the poetry of local and regional poets.
