4 star Guardian review for new Hilda Paredes disc

Señales, a new CD from Mode Records featuring five works by Hilda Paredes, has been awarded four stars by The Guardian's Andrew Clements.

Clements praises Paredes' 'vivid aural imagination' in Páramo de Voces (Wasteland of Voices) and the 'wonderfully imagined textures' of Señales (Signals), a new work for the composer's husband, violinist Irvine Arditti, and the New York-based Ensemble Signal.

Señales is Paredes' third release on Mode, after Listen How They Talk: Chamber Music 1998-2001 and The Arditti Quartet: Mexico - New Music for Strings, which featured Uy u'tan.
