Thomas Simaku - World Première in Venice
Thomas Simaku's new work a2 for viola and cello will be premièred in Venice on 3rd May 2008 at the Auditorium Candiani as part of the Intrasonus Festival.
Written during the composer's DAAD Residency in Berlin in the autumn 2007, the piece will be performed by the internationally acclaimed musicians, former members of the Arditti Quartet, Garth Knox and Rohan de Saram, to whom it is dedicated. [...more]

Ed Hughes Broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Online
Strike Sketches by Ed Hughes is due to be broadcast at 10:30pm on Saturday May 3rd on Hear and Now, BBC Radio 3's flagship contemporary music magazine. The programme features the New Music Players' concert at the Warehouse, London as part of the BMIC's Cutting Edge Series in December 2006, and will also feature an interview with the composer. Hear and Now will be broadcast on the internet live, and will also be available for seven days as part of Radio 3's Listen Again service. [...more]
Pianthology
Pianthology is a new collection of seven contemporary piano works by living composers which includes a CD featuring recording of each of the works performed by Nicky Losseff, the volume's editor. The anthology is aimed at university and conservatoire level piano students, but will serve as an excellent introduction to new music for the piano for any dedicated player looking to broaden their range.
